Pellet production
The individual pellet produced was cylindrical in shape
with a nominal diameter of 6 mm, length of 6 mm, and a
nominal weight of 0.19 g. For the strength tests, the pellets
were produced individually using a universal tensile
machine (Lloyd LR10K, UK) with a load cell of 10 kN.
Stainless steel molds comprising a detachable base, a die,
and a plunger were custom-made and used to make the
compacts. The same machine was used to eject the pellet at
a speed of 10 mm/min. The weight of each pellet was
measured after ejection on an analytical balance (Ohaus
SPS202F, US). In addition, the length of the pelletLafter
ejection was also measured using a vernier calliper. The
length of the pellets, L0, at maximum compaction during
the compaction process was also determined from the gap
between the plunger and the base of the mold
