4. Discussion
Human hPAF1 complex (hPAF1C) is comprised of five subunits
that include hPAF1, parafibromin, hLeo1, hCtr9 and hSki8. The
physiological functions of hPAF1C include efficient transcription
elongation, mRNA quality control and cell-cycle regulation [7].
hPAF1 was reported to be amplified and overexpressed in many
types of cancer. For example, several studies have shown an
amplification of hPAF1 gene (19q13 locus) in pancreatic tumor [6].
Furthermore, in vitro amplification of the hPAF1 gene in normalNIH3T3 cell line led to malignant transformation, suggesting a
strong oncogenic potential of hPAF1 complex [6]. The current study
