The bark yield of cinnamon was greater in the first
harvest than in all other harvests as it was the result of
three years of uninterrupted growth, while yield in the
subsequent harvests were the growth of the remaining
immature shoots after annual harvests. The bark yield
was significantly affected by plant density. The bark
yield of D1 was comparable with that of the lowest
density (D4) in all harvests. With the exception of the
final two harvests the highest plant density treatment
(D1) gave significantly greater bark yield than either
in D2 or D3. The yield differences seen in D3 or D4 in
the last two harvests were not consistent (Fig. 1).
