4. Conclusions
A simple method for determination of metrafenone in vegetables by matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD) and HPLC was developed. With neutral alumina-silica gel mixture as the dispersant and dichloromethane as the elution solvent in MSPD, the whole pretreatment process could remove (or adsorb) a large amount of water-soluble components in the samples. Without further cleanup steps, a good recovery and cleanup effect could be achieved. The method was simple, rapid, highly sensitive and suitable for the determination of metrafenone in vegetables. It could meet the technical requirements of the European Union countries for the safety detection of metrafenone residues in vegetable products.
