Good afternoon! I am delighted to inform you about our upcoming International Week, "Visiting Cultures of the World"! It will take place from October 12 - 16. The culminating event, held on the 15th, will include a parade of costumes, a performance from each class level, a food fair, and a gallery walk for all parents to view the students' work. The P1's will be learning about Italy this year for International Week, focusing particularly on the arts there. We just began our studies on this country, and the students are all quite excited! They have already begun to learn a song they will be performing.
For the food fair portion of the festivities, Homeroom teachers are asking parents to donate a food dish for a school-wide potluck. If possible, we would like it to be a dish from from the country each class is representing. Attached you will find some suggestions (with pictures) for Italian cuisine. However, the food dish does not need to be country specific, any food donation will be gladly accepted and appreciated! To get an idea of how much food we will have for the event, please email me if you will be able to donate a dish for the food fair.
As the students will have a parade of costumes, I will send you an email next week with suggestions and ideas for what your child can wear.
