It is known that Iranian people consume rice as a popular and
staple food to supply their daily energy (Jahed Khaniki & Zazoli,
2005). The Rice Research Institute of Iran estimated a weighted
average of 40.15 kg (0.110 kg per day) per capita per year consumption
of rice. Due to growing demand and lack of sufficient
production, a significant proportion of this product is imported
from the other countries.
