On 23–25 April 2014, Barack Obama President of the United States state visit to Japan and held a summit meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. President Obama expressed the commitments of Article 5 of Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security between the United States and Japan coveres all territories under Japan’s administration, including the Senkaku Islands in joint press conference and assurred by U.S.-Japan Joint Statement. Barack Obama is the first president of the United States mentioned on Senkaku Islands covered under Article 5 of Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security between the United States and Japan.
