The students had an expectation for instant response and ease of use,
which relies upon the combination of application and device. Because
Blackboard lacked this “anytime, anywhere, anyhow” access on mobile devices,
students had a negative perspective of Blackboard. The perceived inability for
constant polling and what students considered to be onerous log-on protocols
were considered to be drawbacks of Blogs. These factors contributed to the
negative sentiments that students directed toward Facebook.
