The proliferation of mobile communications devices connected to the internet such as WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) phones and personal digital assistants opens up further payment and delivery possibilities. With mobile phones, the newly-emerging technology of ‘m-ticketing’ allows the ticket to appear in the phone window, and verification by venues that the phone in question is the one on which the tickets were booked. The traditional inconvenience of paying for tickets and then worrying about having to collect them, or paying to have them sent by what may be an unreliable postal service, disappears in such a scenario.
