Business Requirements
Your business may not need constant and accurate knowledge of inventory to provide goods or services. This is likely not true for a manufacturing company, where raw materials are crucial to providing the end product. However, a cleaning company, for example, may have a limited range of supplies that a manager re-orders informally on an as-needed basis. Billing rates don't hinge on inventory consumption, and stock delivery times don't jeopardize delivery of service. Periodic inventories performed quarterly or annually may be sufficient.
