FTIR spectroscopic data of SSA-PAni and undoped sample are
shown in Fig. S1 (Supporting Information). The bands at around
1580 and 1490cm1 correspond to stretching vibrations of
benzenoid and quinoid rings. Cluster of band between 1450 and
1150cm1 appears due to aromatic C-N stretching [22]. In SSAPAni
a distinct band at around 1030 and 1010cm1 arises due to
S=O stretching thus confirming the presence of sulphonate in the
polymer. S-O stretching bending at 830cm1 and C-S stretching
vibrations mode at 674 cm1 further confirm the formation of SSA
doped PAni [38]. Absence of the above three characteristic signals
in the undoped sample was on the expected lines.
