When the antioxidant activity was measured with the DPPH
method, the freeze-dried fruit peels under study showed similar
values of antioxidant activity with no significant difference. These
results are superior to those reported for freeze-dried apple peel
(1435 lM Trolox/100 g DW) (Henríquez et al., 2012), which is a
waste product from dried apple manufacture considered as good
source of antioxidants.
