THE FOUR NOBLE TRUTHS
Objective
1. To teach students the value of Four Noble Truths.
2. To teach learn the relevance of the Four Noble Truths in a person' life.

1. The students understand the value of the Four Noble Truths.
2. The students learn the relevance of the Four Noble Truths in a person' life.
The Noble Truth or ‘Ariya Sacca’ is a profound and extraordinary teaching of Buddhism. The Four Noble Truths is regarded as an important and very interesting Buddhist philosophy. The Noble Truths explains the cause and effect that leads to the eradication of sufferings. The Four Noble Truths are:
1. Dukkha (suffering)
2. Samudaya (The cause of suffering)
3. Nirodha (The cessation of suffering)
4. Magga (The way leading to cessation of suffering)
It can be further explained as follows:
The First Noble Truth is suffering (Dukkha). This is caused by birth, old age, disease, death, meeting unloving people, separation from dear ones and not obtaining what one desires. The above are the sources of suffering.
The Second Noble Truth is the cause of suffering (Samudaya). This is due to the craving of worldly objects (Kama-tanha), craving for existence (Bhava-tanha), and craving for non-existence (Vibhava-tanha).
The Third Noble Truth Is the cessation of sufferings (Nirodha). It can take place by complete cessation (stopping of) and eradication of all cravings.
The Fourth Noble Truth Is known as the way that leads to the cessation of soffering (Magga). It an eightfold practice called The Eightfold Path.
