Silver triangle nanoplates (silver TNPs, also referred to as silvernanoprisms, silver nanotriangles) have strong SPR absorption that are tunable throughout the visible and near-infrared (NIR) regions of the spectrum by controlling nanoplate edge length, thickness,and tip morphology [24–31]. Distinctive from other nanoparticles,silver TNPs contain three special sharp “corners” or “tips” that contribute significantly to their optical, electronic and chemical properties. Silver TNPs are fine plasmonic probes for establishing stable and sensitive colorimetric methods, considering the special shapes (sharp “tips”) have special optical and chemical properties,and can be etched by other molecules, metals and ions [32]. This etching phenomenon has been successfully studied and employed to control particle size and repair nanoparticles that contain defects in nanomaterial synthesis [33,34], and also used for analytical pur-pose.
