In summary, these results indicate that an inclusion of 4 and 8 % of brown seaweed meal (from a cultivated system) and green seaweed meal (from natural stocks) in commercial shrimp feed supported adequate growth and survival of juvenile L. vannamei reared in intensive RAS.
Further research is needed to evaluate the potential use of other seaweed meals and different levels of inclusion, different culture systems and natural stocks to understand the role of seaweed meal in shrimp nutrition stress situations and threats from viral and bacterial diseases
