In the north Gujarat zone, ten collections were made in four out of five districts viz., Chirod, Santakpur, Rathanpur, Bhildhi and Deesa explored. In Rathanpur district Erian-thus bengalensis (Munja grass) was found in larger colo-nies on the field bunds and waste lands. In the major river banks of Kantalwadi and Banas, only Typha and Cyperus were seen. In the Banaskanda district, one S.spontaneum (IND-07-1473) was found on the banks of river Arjuna. It was medium in height with erect narrow green leaves and almost flowering was completed.
