CHAPTER 3
METHODOLOGY
The chapter covers the research method employed in this study. The methodology section comprises five parts: (a) research design, (b) participant, (c) research instruments, (d) data collection procedures and (e) data analysis
Research Design
The research used the qualitative method to collect data. In this case, this research followed suggest by Robert (2015) in which data collected by interviewing teacher or student that how about the effect of cell phone and how opinion about using cell phones in classrooms of interviewees.
Participant
The participants of the study were students who study in Naresuan University International Collect (NUIC). Purposive sampling was used to select 5 of the 700 students.
All were study at Naresuan University International Collect and have a cell phone.
Research Instruments
There is the research instrument that was employed to collect qualitative data as follows:
Semi-structured interview
To collect information about using cell phones and effect of cell phones then we will connect it will the research for comparing about advantages and disadvantages of using cell phones in class. The questions in this interview were open-ended that designed for surveying the opinion of students who have a mobile phone and use it in class. During the interviews, we will use a tape recorder for saved the sound of interviewees to use in writing the report. In each interview will use just only 10-15 minutes. Then, all the sounds of interviewees were keeping a secret and deleted affect finish the research.
Data Collection Procedures
There are two phase for collection the data. The first phase, the researcher will find the target person for interviewing who have mobile phones. Then the researcher will connect to them to appoint them for the interview only 10-15 minutes and saved sounds in the tape recorder. Next, the research will listen to the sounds of the interviewees again for the collect information and write the report.
Data Analysis
The qualitative data analysis was collect data from the semi-structured interviews. The researcher analyzed and connects the information with the research question. The purpose of the semi-structured interview was collecting the data about opinions of students about using mobile phones in class. All of the data of the interviewee were destroyed after the research was finished.
