Training and Development
In sharp contrast to the importance given to training and development in the
literature, this is another area that appears under valued. Fewer than half
(46.67%) of the respondents said that employees were made aware of training
programmes (See Appendix 3, question no. 16), and only one quarter
(26.67%) said that their organizations published a catalog of available organization
training programmes (question no. 31). Even worse, of the
26.67% who do publish a catalog, only 20% said the catalog was distributed
throughout the organization (question no. 32).
