As shown above, saluamine was observed as a TP of furosemide(Fig. 2). It is the first time that its formation in river sediment is reported. Saluamine was documented as a product of the
acid-catalyzed hydrolysis [24] and photochemical degradation of furosemide [25]. Considering the strictly dark conditions and the results of the abiotic control (Supplementary Material), both path-ways can be ruled out here.
