of H3 where stearic acid content was strongly reduced. However,
since the concentration of this fatty acid is close to the instrumental
limit of detection, this result could be an analytical artefact due to
poor recovery in this range. It should be noted however, that a
reduction in stearic acid was observed also in another study on
soybeans grown in a greenhouse exposed to 40 C and severewater
stress (soil water potential from 150 to 200 kPa) (Bellaloui et al.,
2013), suggesting its susceptibility to temperature increase and/or
water availability decrease.
