Philippines’ JG Summit plans to expand its petchem business
According to media reports, the Philippines’ JG Summit plans to invest $500-$600 million to expand its petrochemical business in Batangas in the next three years.
As part of its expansion plans, the company will increases its ethylene production capacity to 500,000 tons/year by 2019 on the top of its current production capacity of 320,000 tons/year. The company is also planning to construct new butadiene and aromatics plants.
JG Summit aims to reduce the Philippines’ dependence on imported chemicals through its new expansion.
