Concentrated cultures of Tetraselmis suecica kept in darkness at 4°C maintain their viability, whereas the latter is completely lost upon freezing. Furthermore, cultures stored in hermetically sealed vials lose their viability more rapidly than those kept in cotton-plugged vials.
