Values represent averages from four replicates of each treatment. Treatment units varied in size from 17.4 to 25.2 ha. Area in gaps was: natural forest 1.45 ha (6.6%); light removal = 2.83 ha (14.4%); heavy removal = 7.49 ha (35.5%).
