History of the Border Patrol Police school
Border Patrol Police has a patrol mission to wilderness along the border areas to maintain peace and order in the country. They found many people who suffered from disease and living so they provide assistance as it can help such as, Medical care to patients, Career Advice, Gave some food and clothing. Then they found many children of school age did not study because the Government agencies who have educational accountability cannot build the school in rural areas and some areas have situation terrorism from government opponents.
About 1955, Border Patrol Police went to a hill tribe village but the hill tribes neither meet nor talk because they think Border Patrol Police was a stranger did not trust and they cannot say or understand Thai language. Border Patrol Police recognize that a major problem. So they have an idea to establish a school for the hill tribes. To know Thai language and would have made communication to share knowledge to development of lifestyle and also stability in dominance.
Then in 1986, a first school of hill tribes and countryside residents has established at Baan Don ma one, Chiang Khong District, Chiang Rai Province and opened on January 7, 1986 named “โรงเรียนตำรวจตระเวนชายแดนบำรุงที่ 1” or “first maintain Border Patrol Police school”
