The legend of Sam Muk mountain has been referred to since the late Sri Ayutthaya period. “San”, son of a village leader, fell in love with “Sam Muk”. When Sam Muk collected a kite San was flying and losing it, both of them sworn to the mountain that they would love each other forever. If one of them broke the swear, they would jump off the mountain. San gave a ring to Sam Muk. When San’s father learnt about their love, he disagreed and proposed another girl for San to marry.
