The telegraph Colour Library wanted to present its identity guidelines interestingly enough to actually get read. To meet this objective, HGV Design Consultants created a booklet that is simple, fun, and to the point. It also make use of color most notably, yellow. Designers chose yellow for its modern and fresh appeal, and because it reflected the diversity of the images in the library’s range and linked the images with words. The inside pages are stripped of color, focusing on the Telegraph logo and spotlighting a different four-color image from its library. Many of the image are subtle in color, including steely shades of gray as show in photos of a multi-tool, an elephant, and the Eiffel Tower. When boldly colored images are used, such as the traditional English red phone booth the images literally pop off the page.
