This decolorization behavior can be explained by the mechanism of hypochlorite generation. Since decolorization behavior was observed when the electrode potential was maintained at positive value (+0.7 V), it was supposed that electrochemically generated hypochlorite from chloride oxidation on the Pt surface was responsible for the dye degradation.
