In recent years, the Chinese search ad market has grown quickly (see Exhibits 16 and 16b) and is also becoming more concentrated. The combined market share of the top three search engines increased from 78 percent in Q1 2006 to 95 percent in 2007 (with Baidu 60.4 percent, Google 21.2 percent, and Yahoo! China Alibaba 13.8 percent). In November 2007 the Chinese search market already oxceeded the United States in the number of search requests, and by February 2008 in the number of internet users. As Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, the vice president for Asia Pacific and Latin American operations for Google has said, "we're in sort of inning one of a nine-inning game. It is very early to call a winner in the China search market
