Sarah’s next question was about validating surveys. Survey validation is a procedure where supervisors, or other objective individuals, recontact a small random sample of respondents to check the accuracy of the fieldwork being done. Validation is particularly needed when the temptation for interviewer cheating may be present. Sarah was told that the clients did the validations and that the supervisor also did some. The context of the interview led Sarah to believe that the Wise’s organization was contracting to provide valid survey data. Sarah was then told that callbacks for second interviews would be made that afternoon.
