2.4. Statistical analysis
Regression analyses and analyses of variance were performed using either TableCurve 2D version 4.0 (Jandel Scientific) or STATISTICA for Windows (StatSoft). Where data were not homoscedastic according to Bartlett’s test, logarithmic transformations were performed. Significant differences between means were determined using Tukey’s honest significant difference test. A contingency w2-test was performed on germination data to determine homogeneity, with 95% confidence intervals calculated according to Snee (1974).
