703 Fuel Oil Systems
Main Engine, auxiliary engine and boiler to have suction from day tanks via duplex filter. Both day tanks to be able to serve all users.
Special care to be taken to installation and proper shielding of fuel oil piping to avoid leakages onto exhaust piping causing possible fire risk.
The Fuel piping will be installed fulfilling the engine maker’s recommendation.
Local fuel meters (two) to be arranged for measuring of main engine fuel oil consumption.
71 LUBRICATING OIL SYSTEM
710 Lub. Oil Drain and Transfer System
The lub oil system to be installed as per main engine manufacturer’s recommendations and as described under Main Engines.
The following tanks are to be arranged:
a. Lub. oil storage tanks of sufficient capacities to be installed in engine room. Min. 5 m3. Filling pipe from storage tank via 2m³/h gear type L.O transfer pump to main engine min. diameter 50mm, valves to be locked.
b. Main engines and auxiliary engines to have wet sump (depend on engine supplier).
c. L.O storage tank for propulsion units installed in prop. Unit room. Hand driven pump mounted.
d. One hydraulic oil storage tank of adequate capacity for towing winch system. Hand driven pump for filling which system from storage tank.
All lub. oil storage tanks must have manhole, graduated lever gauge, filling, air vent, drain cock, and discharge.
All storage tanks with filling from bunker station on main deck.
