In an effort to more effectively utilize waste heat, the temperature of the waste heat may be increased,
to a limited degree, by raising the condensing pressure of the refrigeration system. However, studies
have shown that raising the condensing pressure to achieve higher quality waste heat uses more energy
than it saves. Reasons cited include poorly designed heat recovery systems and a lack of sophistication
in the control systems for the refrigeration and HVAC systems (Arias and Lundqvist 2006).
