In China, PVC prices remained mostly unchanged over the past week amidst limited trading activity ahead of new price announcements for January. Import PVC prices were stable from a week earlier to be quoted at $730-740/ton on a CFR China, cash equivalent basis. Several players suspended their purchasing activities ahead of hearing a major Taiwanese producer’s January PVC prices. They are generally expected to come with a modest decrease in the face of plunging crude oil costs as well as lower Asian VCM prices which are currently standing at their lowest levels since April 2009 as data from ChemOrbis Price Wizard shows.
