A 180-day feeding trial was carried out
at the Buffalo Research Station,
Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University,
Venkataramannagudem,
using 12 graded Murrah buffaloes (465.4±20.92 kg) in early lactation (1-2 months and 1-3 lactations).
The animals were divided into two groups of six animals each
(Yeast unsupplemented, YU and Yeast supplemented, YS)
taking into consideration daily average milk yield (7.85 vs. 7.75 kg),
butter fat content (5.38 vs. 5.40 %),
6% FCM yield (7.27 vs. 7.28 kg)
number of lactations (1.67 vs. 1.33)
and stage of lactation (31.17 vs. 29.17 days).
