INT: This was your first villain role since your debut.
JHJ: I have been wanting to play a villain for a long while now. I am so honored to be able to encounter a character like Han Do Jun at the right time. It’s a grateful thing to actors when they meet such a special and unique character. Putting the fun element into the work makes it so exciting.
INT: Even Jeong Woong In who specializes in playing villains complimented you.
JHJ: Is that right? This is such a happy moment for me since I am hearing a compliment saying that I did a good job acting by a reputable senior actor. I am extremely happy when I hear people telling me that I am bad or I am scary or I am dirty and even cruel.
INT: Why did you never play a villain in the past?
JHJ: I have always wanted to try but getting the kind of role you want is almost like fate or some kind of connection in a way. When you look at it a certain way, I really did not have the opportunity in the past. In my 20s I was cast a lot as upright and prince-type characters. Even if I wanted to show the side of me where I’m being rebellious, I couldn’t even do that. So, I feel like “Yongpal” is like an oasis where I was able to quench my thirst.
