Challenges for educators and trainers who use multimedia presentation software include: (1) interweaving technology more efficiently within adult learning processes so that understanding is maximized and (2) enriching training and educational programs by developing autonomous learners. The potential for increased usage and improving the teaching/learning processes would be greater if more was known about (1) what types of multimedia presentation software are being used, (2) the purpose for which the software is being used, (3) the frequency of such usage, and (4)the barriers encountered as the software is used to deliver education or training to adults.
