This course has been developed by the Business School in consultation with the School of Arts and Cultures and key stakeholders from the creative industries. It has been created in response to the growing recognition that entrepreneurial education is vital for creative graduates who want to be involved in the successful start up, management, development and growth of a business or freelance career in the creative industries. It examines the theoretical aspects of the creative industries and the social, cultural, economic, political and increasingly international contexts in which they operate. Since entrepreneurship education needs to be experiential, there is a significant practical element to the programme, including starting up your own enterprise, acting as a consultant in creative businesses and working with practitioners across the sector.
