We have concluded the Catapult project. We examined the concepts of Kinetic Energy,
Potential Energy, and transfer of energy, as well as cause and effect. Please take a few minutes
to consider what you learned. Think about what you enjoyed the most and what you enjoyed
the least about the project. Think about what you could have done differently within your
group. Think about the performance of your group mates and what they brought to the team.
Write down several of your thoughts in an outline. Once you have your ideas together, take out
a plain sheet of notebook paper and write one page about your experience in the catapult
project. Be sure to include the following:
How did your concepts of transfer of energy apply to the construction of the catapult?
The concept of Work is a force applied over a distance. Use this concept to explain your
catapult shooting a ping-pong ball.
What was the most challenging part of the catapult to design?
If you could do it again, what would you change about your design?
What were you most proud of in the design of your catapult?
Which part of the building process was the most difficult?
How did you feel about the teamwork and work ethic of your team?
Overall, how did you feel about the catapult project?
What suggestions would you make for Ms. Bradley for next year?
Try your best to write a good reflection of the project. You will need to hand in both your
outline as well as your finished page. This page will count as an unassisted grade.
