As I mentioned before, I had a very interesting and productive meeting with Judy Benn at the AmCham.
Judy was extemely helpful and enlightining.
She was very receptive to the idea of doing joint events with MexCham and had already thought about putting something related with NAFTA later in the year.
Nothing specific was discussed, but I would like to ask you to follow up on this during my abscense. In fact, the board meeting on August 20 would be a great opportunity to do so.
She is open to look into other ideas we may have later on and she will let us know what they are working on.
Judy has brought up the fact that we should participate in the Inter Chamber group, and she is already trying to get us included in the the group and meetings of the TransPacific Partnership.
Although Thailand is not a signatory of the TTP, the MexCham should be part of the TTP, as the potential networking opportinities with other countries would be invaluable, nonetheless.
She is asking us to send her our logo to include it in any inter-chamber events or activities.
Finally, Judy was very generous in giving me some insights as to what we can do and cannot do as a chamber and she also explained to me some of the requirements set by the Ministry of Commerce before a new member can be admitted to the chamber.
Another topic was a brief description of how they raise revenue as only about 25% of their revenue comes from membership dues. Essentially, Marketing Internet, events and publishing are the cornerstone.
If you want to get together tomorrow to discuss this further, please let me know. I would be available in the morning.
Meanwhile, I would appreciate if you could do me a favor in sending Judy a quality logo. (I only have the logos printed in emails and those usually are not high resolution).
Other than K Yuttapoom, K Diana and K Indy, I was not sure who else I should send this email to, so please forward it to other director who should get it.
I would be very grateful, if you could.
Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to drop me a line.
