24 h, shaken for 1 h, and then re-soaked in another 0.125N NaOH
solution for 24 h. The free mineral N from will be dissolved in the
NaOH solution. The immobilized N was determined by measuring
the N content of the straw residue after treatment with the
NaOH solutions. The free N content was determined by subtraction
of immobilized N from total N, determined with a semi-automatic
Kjeldahl Azotometer.
