Container-Load Descriptions
• Determining: what type of wood container to use, style within the type, the load to be contained.
• Type I – Easy loads. Contents have low or moderate density; complete fill the container and usually add rigidity to it. Contents are not easily damaged by shock or puncture and do not shift or flow within the container.
• Type II – Moderate loads. Contents are of moderate
density; provide support at several point on each face of
container; are protected by interior pkg material.
• Type III – Difficult loads. Contents require a high degree of protection from shock, puncture, distortion of the container; moderate to high density; and do not support faces of containers.
