QUINCY - Police say a would-be thief left a Quincy gas station empty-handed Tuesday night after failing repeatedly to breaking into a safe and cash register.
Police Capt. John Dougan said investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from US Petroleum, 664 Washington St., that shows a man in jeans and a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt walking around the station and struggling to open the cash register and safe. The failed burglary was reported around 5 a.m. Wednesday after the owner noticed a broken window and a tire iron out of place, Dougan said.
No arrests had been made as of 8 a.m. Wednesday.
