3. Results and discussion
3.1. Basic properties of the aggregates
Table 3 shows that the washed MSWIBA has a smaller unit
weight, a higher porosity and greater water absorption than the
natural aggregate. The unit weights of the 12.5-mm and 9.5-mm
MSWIBA were 1404 and 1350 kg/m3, respectively, lower than that
of 12.5-mm natural aggregate, which was 1578 kg/m3. The porosities
of 12.5-mm and 9.5-mm MSWIBA were 43.83% and 43.03%,
respectively, higher than that of 12.5-mm natural aggregate, which
