I first arrived and stayed in Smile Bungalows, which was a very nice place, people were great, food was great the only thing was the bungalows were up on the hillside, with a slight view of the beach. I stayed for a few days, I then walked down to Bottle Beach 2 to see what it was like, the bungalows were right on the beach for the same price, I spoke to Babu and asked if he could hold the bungalow for me, and he did, so I moved down to stay there. The people were also great people, Ppor the manager, Babu the entertainer and the rest of the staff were super friendly and made my stay very relaxing and enjoyable.
I stayed for 16 days and had a great time, thanks to Ppor, Babu and all the staff. My bungalow (A4) was just 10 meters from the water, every morning I walked the beach, did some exercises and had a swim, then around 10am all the long-tail boats started to arrive with people in for the days stay, as on the Koh Phangan map Bottle Beach is number two, a must see place on the entire island, around 10 to 20 boats come in for the day, and then around 4pm the beach is nice and quiet again.
One day I did a 1 ½ hour bush walk from Bottle Beach to Chalok Lum, quite a hike, stopped to visit some old friends from 18 years ago and they remember me right away, so I had some lunch with Jo and Gai then got the boat back. A few days later I went back to see Mr Rod and his wife Ba Toom who ran Sea Love Bungalows back in the late 80's, I stayed there for about 11 weeks at Sea Love Bungalows, he was also very happy I came back to visit, he got me a motorbike so I could spend the day riding around the island to have a good look around. another day I walked to the top of the big rock which overlooks Bottle Beach, what a great view, other than that, I just sat around doing nothing, that’s what holidays are for, Babu also so showed me how to use the (Ga-Bong) fireball dancing, I still have a long way to go. So I hope you enjoy the photos I took.
