3.1. Gross Anatomy
S. fuscus has a laterally long body with a slightly protractile terminal mouth (Figure 1(A)). The upper and lower lips are comprised of a stratified epithelium, with nonserrated incisive teeth set in a single row on the jaws (Figure 1(B)). Each gill chamber has four gill arches, the first arch possesses long thin gill rakers (Figure 1(C)), while the other arches possess unadorned gill rakers (Figure 1(D)).
