Nitrogen sources can be used in
organic or inorganic compounds. Yeast extract and casein
are good products used for the growth and formation of
Acetobacter xylinum biocellulose. However, ammonium sulfate and ammonium phosphate (in the market known
as ZA) are more suitable materials used in terms of
economy and quality yield of biocellulose. Many other N
inexpensive sources can be used such as urea.
