The role of the IT experts sitting in this ad
hoc committee should limit itself to consulting
with top management and senior members about
how much the required information would cost
(in term of resources). The decision as to
whether the information is beneficial should be
left to the latter. There have been, however, a
few instances where IT experts have been
reluctant to fully cooperate or have
overestimated the cost of developing the system.
Whenever this happens, outside IT experts
should be brought in to monitor the situation.
