The analysis of archetypes confirmed that the objective knowledge of landscape development requires an integrated approach to assessment of the significance of factors and conditions in which the landscape changes. It is important to accept natural and spatial conditions, as well as historical and socio-economic factors that determined the character of changes, and subsequently also the spatial arrangement of landscape elements. Importance and use of archetypes as comprehensive regions lies also in the evaluation of landscape quality using specific GIS models, developed in the work (Paudits ˇova ´ and Slabeciusova ´ 2014).
