refers to excessive brightness from adirect light source that makes it difficult tosee what one wishes to see. A bright objectin front of a dark background usually willcause glare. Bright lights reflecting off atelevision or computer screen or even aprinted page produce glare. Intense lightsources such as bright incandescent lampsare likely to produce more direct glare thanlarge fluorescent lamps. However, glare isprimarily the result of relative placement oflight sources and the objects being viewed.
