CT abdomen : Plain and post contrast enhanced MDCT scan of the whole abdomen were performed.
Case A 88-year-old man with palpable LLQ mass.
Results : The study shows
- A 0.5-cm well-defined hypodense lesion in hepatic segment 8, could be hepatic cyst.
- Normal attenuation of the remaining liver parenchyma. The hepatic and portal veins are patent. No biliary ductal dilatation is seen.
- Normal appearance of the gallbladder, spleen, pancreas and both adrenal glands.
- Multiple bilateral renal cysts, the largest one at upper pole of right kidney is measured about 2.0-cm in diameter. Normal appearance of the remaining bilateral renal parenchyma. No stone or dilatation of both pelvocalyceal system is observed.
- The opacified bowel loops are unremarkable without gross mass lesion or abnormal dilatation.
- No significant abdominal lymphadenopathy or ascites.
- Mild enlarged prostate gland, measuring about 3.9x4.9x3.5 cm in size. The seminal vesicles appear normal.
- Mild cardiomegaly without pericardial effusion.
- Mild reticular opacities in the posterior both basal lungs are seen. No pleural effusion is detected.
- Tortuosity of the abdominal aorta with multiple stipple calcifications along its wall.
- Mild scoliosis with degenerative changes of the spine. The remaining bony structures are intact.
IMP:
- A 0.5-cm well-defined hypodense lesion in hepatic segment 8, could be hepatic cyst.
- Multiple bilateral renal cysts.
- Mild enlarged prostate gland.
- Mild scoliosis with degenerative changes of the spine.
- Atherosclerotic changes of the aorta.
